Our practice began in 1978 when Leon Woodruff, Jr., MD, and Bill Goldston, MD, partnered together to provide a progressive and caring medical practice. Their mission was to deliver the best, up-to-date medical care in a compassionate and family-friendly environment. We are proud to have successfully maintained this vision for over 30 years.
All of our physicians are members of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and are board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). Our practice maintains privileges at Rex Healthcare, where we perform deliveries, robotic surgeries, and other related Obstetrical and Gynecological procedures.
Amy O. Groff, MD
Amy O. Groff, MD is from Solon, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. She moved to North Carolina where she attended Duke University and obtained both her undergraduate and medical degrees. She stayed at Duke for her residency in Ob-Gyn, finishing in 1999, when she joined our practice.
Dr. Groff is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and also a member of the North Carolina Medical Society.
Sarah D. Maddison, MD
Sarah D. Maddison, MD is a North Carolina native, born in Rocky Mount. She received her undergraduate degree at UNC-Chapel Hill and attended medical school at East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine. She returned to Chapel Hill for her residency training, which she completed in 2002. Dr. Maddison is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and also a member of the North Carolina Medical Society.
Ruth C. Wind, MD
Ruth C. Wind, MD was born and raised in Virginia. She completed her undergraduate work at Virginia Commonwealth University, after which she completed her medical school training and Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at VCU’s Medical College of Virginia.
She moved to Raleigh in 2006 and loves being a part of the great team at Women’s Health Alliance pka Mid-Carolina OB/GYN. Dr. Wind is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Jack R. Inge Jr., MD
Dr. Jack R. Inge has been in private practice since 1997. He earned his BS at East Carolina University, Master of Life Sciences in Microbiology at North Carolina State University and his Medical Degree at East Carolina University. Dr. Inge completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia and became Board Certified in 1999.
Dr. Jack Inge is nationally recognized for surgeries he has performed with the Da Vinci Robot. He is the only Robot epicenter surgeon in North Carolina. He also was recognized as one of North Carolina’s Top Doctors by Business North Carolina.
Filza Faiz, MD
Filza Faiz, MD grew up in the Raleigh area and completed her undergraduate work at East Carolina University. She also completed her medical school and residency at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
Dr. Faiz is fluent in Hindi and Urdu and she has 2 young children. She is excited to be part of the great team at Mid-Carolina OB/GYN.
Abby Hardin, MD
Abby Hardin, MD grew up in Raleigh and completed her undergraduate work in Biomedical Engineering at North Carolina State University. She completed her medical school and residency training at Duke University. Dr. Hardin partners with her patients to find the right treatment for their individual situation and empowers her patients to be educated about their care. She enjoys robotic surgery, troubleshooting contraception with her patients, hormone replacement therapy, as well as guiding patients through the journey of trying to conceive, pregnancy, and adjusting to motherhood postpartum.
Dr. Hardin is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
She enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters, going to Orange Theory, and spending time at the beach.
Lindsey Lewis, MD
Lindsey Lewis, MD is from Raleigh, North Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree from University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill. She continued at University of North Carolina to complete her medical degree and masters of public health. She attended University of Florida for her residency in Ob-Gyn. She is excited to return to Raleigh and join Mid-Carolina!
Syreeta Alston Tucker, MD
Dr. Syreeta Tucker is a native of Rocky Mount, NC. She attended undergraduate and medical school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was an OB/GYN resident at East Carolina University/Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC. She began private practice in 2013 and worked in a small rural community for 4 years until joining Mid-Carolina OB/GYN in August 2017.
As an OB/GYN physician, Dr. Syreeta Tucker strives to provide high-quality care to women to empower them thru all aspects of life. She has a special interest in pediatric and adolescent gynecology however the most precious part of her job is obstetrics. She believes by understanding our bodies, women can affect change in tremendous areas. Her main goal is to provide education and quality information to the women in the community to increase health awareness.
Jennifer Chancellor, MD
Jennifer A. Chancellor, MD is originally from Oklahoma and relocated to North Carolina to attend Duke University for her undergraduate education. Dr. Chancellor then switched to a lighter shade of blue and completed her medical training at the UNC School of Medicine. She completed her residency at UNC and is Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology. Before joining our team, Dr. Chancellor worked in private practice and as a teaching physician at WakeMed. She has three young children, enjoys practicing yoga, as well as reading and cooking in her spare time.
Dr. Chancellor’s primary goal is to have happy, healthy moms delivering happy, healthy babies. She enjoys taking care of both low-risk and high-risk pregnancies. Her role at Mid-Carolina will be to provide mostly Obstetrical Care with some limited Gynecology services.
Ariel Ansley, MD
Originally from Florida. After receiving a Bachelors degree from the University of North Florida, Dr Ansley pursued a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of South Florida which led to a research fellowship at the CDC in Atlanta, GA. Her medical degree was completed at Meharry Medical College in Nashville TN. She completed her training in upstate NY at SUNY- University at Buffalo.
Dr. Ansley is a laborist and does not see patients in the clinic. Patients may see her during delivery.
Amy Gilbert, NP-C
Amy Gilbert, NP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a passion for OB/GYN care.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Master of Science in Nursing with honors from Duke University.
Prior to joining Mid-Carolina, Amy worked over 12 years in a local OB/GYN practice.
Amy joins Mid-Carolina as an experienced nurse practitioner in 2019 with great excitement to continue her role of providing both personal and comprehensive healthcare to patients. “What I love most about my specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology is the ability to care for women throughout their remarkable and ever-changing journey from adolescence, early adulthood, preconception, pregnancy and their life changes beyond. It is a privilege to help patients optimize their well-being so they may live healthy lives for themselves and their families.”
Amy lives in Apex with her husband and four children. She enjoys cooking, traveling, exercise and time with her family and friends.
Katie Wood Calvillo, CNM, WHNP
Katie Wood Calvillo grew up in Raleigh, NC. After receiving her undergraduate degree in Mathematical Science at UNC-Chapel Hill, Katie worked in actuarial consulting before returning to school to pursue a career in women’s healthcare. Katie attended Columbia University as a National Health Service Corp Scholar and earned a BS in Nursing and a dual master’s in Midwifery and Women’s Health in 2006.
Katie began her career at Baystate Hospital in Springfield, Mass, before moving back home to Raleigh in 2010, where she has worked in private practice. Outside of the office, Katie works with a non-profit in Durham that supports and empowers pregnant and parenting teens.
Erin Burnette, APRN
Erin Burnette, APRN is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who has been in healthcare since 2002. Erin received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received her Master of Science in Nursing with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and has been practicing as an NP since 2009.
Erin has a diverse background in primary care, urgent care, newborn medicine, women’s health, and telemedicine. She believes in personalized care, working closely with each patient to tailor treatment plans that align with their unique needs and lifestyles.
Erin lives in Durham with her husband, twin boys, and three dogs and enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, fostering puppies, and cheering on UNC sports.
