Medical Assistant/Lab Tech

Essential Functions:

Responsibilities include but not limited to; greet and treat patients in a pleasant, professional and timely manner. Performs analysis on specimens to aid in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of our patients. Follow established procedures and quality control protocols; data entry in all laboratory systems and office systems as well as any other responsibilities or duties as directed by Management.

Practice Specific:

1. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English.

2. Must be very reliable, dependable and punctual.

3. Knowledge of medical laboratory principles, standards, applications and tests.

4. Knowledge of safety, infection control policies and regulations.

5. Ability to exercise independent judgment/decision-making and discretion in reporting/distributing results.

6. Ability to organize effectively and work quickly with high level of accuracy.

7. Good rapport with people.

8. Obtain Weight, Blood Pressure (manual/electronic) and BMI on patients, this will vary depending on appointment type

9. Urinalysis with micro and without micro

10. BD Affirm/Hanging Drop Testing

11. Finger stick for glucola and/or iron etc.

12. Begin Patients on glucola test

13. Stock Lab and Lab restrooms with appropriate supplies

14. Clean specs and run autoclave
